Privacy policy

Literary Nation designs and publishes beautiful books from its home in Cornwall. We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website and buyers of our books.

We will never sell, rent or otherwise exchange your data with any other organisations for any purpose, with the exception of fulfilling orders.

Online orders

When you place an order on our website, we collect your name, email and address information for the purposes of fulfilling your order. You will automatically be enrolled in our mailing list (we only send them infrequently) and will be given the option to opt out at any time.

All payment processing for credit/debit cards are handled by PayPal who are fully PCI compliant. We have no access whatsoever to your payment card information.

Mailing list subscriptions

If you wish to subscribe to our mailing list through our website, we collect limited information (first name, last name, email) and only use this to contact you about our books and related information; to check our information is correct; and to invite you to participate in any customer satisfaction surveys.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our communications. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletters. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice, especially with reference to the section Your Distribution Lists which states how they manage Literary Nation’s data.

You can unsubscribe to mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Literary Nation email or by emailing our data protection officer, Spencer Smart at sales@literarynation.com.

Website cookies

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Google Analytics

When someone visits literarynation.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer (a man with many hats) Spencer Smart at sales@literarynation.com.
